Kevin Kasik has not received any gifts yet
Hi all - Kevin Kasik - Plein air painter for fun (and sometimes profit - member of a couple of co-op galleries); Decorative Artist for a living (see website above.) Professional goal as a Decorative Artist; To Ennoble, Enrich and Inspire!
Tonalist in nature; if we share a show together, the 'moody' piece in the show will likely be mine. Am happiest when one of my ala prima plein air paintings works, but my default is to mud it up, unfortunately. Still, I take a photo of the motif for possible later use / a redo - or for use in a larger scale painting. Hey -if it's available, use it... not a purist on this point. In fact Edgar Payne said do a first painting, and then do it new - a second time with a lot more confidence and a greater amount of carefree bravado..
Member, Los Gatos Art Association -www.lgaa.org, as well as the Fremont Art Association. Former editor with the LGAA - some of my interviews can be read if you google my name Kevin Kasik and click on some of the links that appear. Member, Motorcycle-riding Plein Air Artists of America (along with Donald Neff and a couple of great painters Back East) - Motto for painting "LAY IT ON!" Motto for 'bike riding "DON"T LAY IT DOWN!" ha!
Very happy to be part of this site; painters are great people who respect quality, support each other's uniqueness regardless of talent level and have the necessary humility gained from making nine or ten 'frisbees' for every one really good plein air piece (as relayed by plein air master William Rushton / The Outsiders..!)
To all my new friends - thanks for welcoming me!
