Call To Artist: Paint Ventura is seeking artists of ALL mediums to participate in our 7th art festival April 5th from 10am-5pm.  The 300 block of Main St in downtown Ventura will be closed to traffic to host 60 artist booths, plein air painters, Quick Draw Competition, workshops and a variety of other art activities.  We estimate 2,000+ spectators and regional press in multiple medias. 


Booth registration is curtly open to all artists and any medium for only $75 booth, limited amount of double booths are available on a first come basis, each booth can be shared by a maximum of 2 artists. All sales during Paint Ventura are handled by the artists and no commissions will be taken.  To apply to be a part of Paint Ventura on April 5th please register at


LAY-OUT: A lay-out map with booth locations will be e-mailed to all Artists before the event, exact locations will be determined by the order the artists arrive to set up.


Paint Out: any artists wishing to join us in Downtown for the paint out and wet canvas sales from April 2-5th can registering  for free at, no fee for paint out and over $1000 worth of prizes given as people’s choice awards.  Each day you have the opportunity to display and sell your wet paintings at Red Brick Gallery where they will be on display to be judged for the people’s choice awards, monies handed out on April 5th at 4pm.


Quick Draw: Paint Ventura's 1st Annual Quick Draw will be held at the Mini Park on the 300 block of Downtown Ventura.  The staging area will be at the Paint Ventura Booth as you enter the park. Pre-Registration fee is $10.  This event is open to anyone, over the age of 14, who wishes to participate and has their own supplies and easels.  There will be no delineation between amateur or professional.  All artists may use any medium, but must paint in the plein air tradition.  Over $500 in prizes will be awarded to participants in a variety of categories.



About Paint Ventura: Paint Ventura brings a minimum 3,000 Ventura, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles County residents that are supporters of the arts and potential clients for you.


Each Paint Ventura has partnered with a non-profit, including the Ventura Education Partnership and the Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue.  This year Paint Ventura is excited to be working on a long-term project with FoodShare, food donations and a portion of all procedes will be donated to this wonderful organization which feed over 74,000 people a month.

Paint Ventura is free to the public and includes a wide variety of art activities for both adults and kids, plus a showcase for the artists.  Each of the past four Paint Ventura events have grown exponentially and benefiting all of the Downtown Ventura area.  The last event in September 2012 brought more than 3,000 visitors to Downtown.  Paint Ventura has become a 4 day festival with several different components including closing a portion of Main Street for artists booths, several art workshops, live music, family activities and culminating with a Wine Tasting Painting Party open for the public.

Paint Ventura has found regional exposure with several featured articles in Sunset West Magazine, the VC Star, VC Reporter, Ventura Breeze, Santa Barbara News Press along with radio profiles on NPR, CBS La, KHAY as well as a feature on the local Santa Barbara Evening News.  

The on-going sponsors include the City of Ventura, the Ventura Breeze, the Ventura County Star and the Downtown Ventura Organization.

CPAP Paintout at Carmel
