The Winters Plein Air Festival celebrates the tradition of outdoor painting with some of the finest painters from California and beyond. For 10 days in May artists will put brush to canvas, capturing the historical downtown, Putah Creek Riparian Corridor, and the farms and fields of Yolo County. Painting outside, from life and the landscape has long been a California tradition, and one that has endured evolving styles, that draw from the rich traditions of plein air painting, as each artist brings a different perspective and fresh eye to the changing lights, color and texture of the varied land and city scape.
